Jeanie Adams-Smith

I’m always trying to find new ways to push myself and my fellow athletes to be stronger and healthier than yesterday.

When Jeanie Adams-Smith left the Chicago Tribune in 2002 to take a position at Western Kentucky University, it was truly coming home. She was looking forward to sharing her expertise with students in one of the nation’s premier photojournalism schools. Jeanie is an internationally acclaimed photojournalist and has published three books of documentary photography.

But coming back to Bowling Green, Kentucky also allowed her to discover a new passion, CrossFit. Jeanie joined CrossFit Old School in the summer of 2011 and never looked back. She has competed in a dozen CrossFit competitions, triathlons, five half-marathons and two full marathons. In 2018 Jeanie acquired her Level One certificate, and recently started coaching for CFOS. Though her passion is running and swimming, she loves the challenges that CrossFit brings to each day. Her favorite WOD is Murph.

Jeanie has been married to her husband David for 22 years and they share a great love for their 15-year-old daughter Abby and their Golden Retriever Hala.
