Nutrition is a vital component of increasing your physical fitness. While CrossFit can greatly increase performance, a good diet is key to optimizing your results. In the most simple terms, we recommend that you base your diet on garden vegetables (especially greens), lean meats, nuts and seeds, little starch, and no sugar. That's about as simple as we can get. As many have already observed, keeping your grocery cart to the perimeter of the grocery store while avoiding the aisles is a great way to protect your health. Remeber, food is perishable. The stuff with long shelf life is all suspect.
Most serious CrossFitters adhere to either the Zone Diet or the Paleo Diet. Both the Zone Diet and the Paleo Diet have been empirically researched and proven effective for CrossFitters and non-CrossFitters alike.
